Alexana Winery 2018 Terroir Series Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley, $32
By Great Northwest Wine on October 14, 2019

Oregon’s Dundee Hills are renowned for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and Alexana makes sure that Pinot Gris isn’t overlooked with this well-crafted and complex example from Bryan Weil that includes a touch of juice from new French oak. That whiff of wood sits behind aromas of starfruit, cantaloupe and minerality. Tree-ripened orchard fruit akin to white peach and Bosc pear come with juicy acidity and backed by a nibble of apricot skin. Enjoy with white fish jazzed up with chili flakes.
