A disciple of Chris Upchurch and DeLille Cellars, Kit Singh embarked a decade ago on his brand named after his two children, and this superb Cabernet Franc displays investment and patience. Two of Washington state’s warmer and most established sites – Weinbau on the Wahluke Slope and Upland on Snipes Mountain – come together in the cellar and spent 28 months in French barrels. Aromas of ripe red fruit are joined in the background by varietal markers such as dusty herbs and sweet red bell pepper. On the palate, it’s immediately beautiful with elegant and juicy dark cherries, red currant and Marionberry. Sandy tannins make for a creamy mouth feel and remarkable depth, setting the table for suggested pairings of grilled beef, pork, lamb or veal.
