This Walla Walla Valley producer works with StoneTree on the Wahluke Slope, the Dionysus planting downstream along the Columbia River at venerable Sagemoor and the Southwind Vineyard on the Oregon side of the Walla Walla Valley for its Cabernet Franc program. The barrel regimen of 36% new French oak is on display throughout, starting with toasty notes among the tones of rich black fruit and fresh-cut cedar. Its brooding and youthful mouth feel shows the influence of Merlot (15%), which adds structure beyond the sandy tannin profile.
