Wine By Joe 2019 Rosé of Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, $14
By Great Northwest Wine on October 24, 2020

Best Buy! This brand’s visionary namesake founder — Joe Dobbes — saw the beauty and potential of Seabreeze Vineyard, which explains why he acquired the 214-acre site, now in the Van Duzer Corridor AVA near Amity, Ore. The planting, established in 1987, is an ideal spot for cool-climate viticulture, and this salmon-colored rosé is a charmer. The nose of Rainier cherry, cantaloupe and peach leads to similar delicate flavors, a pleasantly bright mouthfeel that’s capped by quince and Rainier cherry skin. Its absence of residual sugar makes it a delicious foil for ceviche or prosciutto-wrapped melon balls.
