Rhône varieties are a particular passion of owner/grower David Dufenhorst at his Double D Vineyard along the Columbia River between Wenatchee and Chelan, and winemkaer Shane Collins turned this into a delicious standout. The wardrobe if quite light, almost Pinot Gris in color, yet the entire package is fruity, scintillating and serious from start to finish. Aromas of dried cherry, pink strawberry, cranberry sauce and peach fuzz lead to long flavors of Montmorency cherry, quince and tangy orange which surround a structure of peach skin. Enjoy with executive chef Austin Harmon’s Godfather Sub, which features house-cured salumi, provolone and giardiniera – his take on the Chicago-inspired relish.
