David Jachter enjoyed a career as one of the Northwest’s most successful automobile dealers, and now he and his wife, Karen, are embarking on a new chapter as entreprenuers in the Oregon wine industry. Their commitment to quality became immediately evident when they recruited Jared Etzel as their winemaker and consultant. While the Jachters have invested in vineyard property, their desire to launch included working with nearby Case Vineyard for one of their first projects — a rosé of Wädensvil clone Pinot Noir. Its bright color is akin to an adult fruit punch, and there’s a fun and dusty nose of cherry candy, strawberry/rhubarb compote and mist of blood orange oil. Those notes are presented with a fruity yet bone-dry approach, leading with strawberry and watermelon, cherry vanilla and a finish of blood orange.
