The Fergestroms named this red for obvious reasons — it is a 50/50 blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Verhey Vineyard near Union Gap. Crafted by winemaker Johnny Brose, you’ll enjoy a concert of ripe blueberries and blackberries together with plum, cocoa and light toast that greet the nose. Those notes are amplified on the palate and play with the fruit attributes to bring the wine to a full fruit crescendo backed by an ample backbone of sweet tannins and acidity in balance. This earned a gold medal at the 2020 Cascadia International Wine Competition.
