Primarius Winery 2019 Pinot Gris, Oregon, $17

Battle Creek Cellars winemaker Sarah Cabot’s responsibilities in the Willamette Valley on behalf of Precept Wine include the entry-level Primarius program, and she sources at both ends of Oregon for her Pinot Gris. There’s an attractive assortment of lime soda, Choward’s Violet Mint, fresh-cut celery, gooseberry and lemon twist aromas that make their way to the palate. Lemon and lavender lead the flavors and lime pith finish makes for a nicely balanced drink. Suggested pairings include grilled chicken, salmon or light appetizers.
