Chemistry Wine 2019 Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley, $14
Best Buy! Soon after Bill Stoller took over ownership of Chehalem Wines, his tasked the winemaking teams at both Chehalem and Stoller Family Estate to create another project that could range beyond the Dundee Hills. Chemistry is one of those. This marks the third vintage under the name brand, and they quickly hit on the interest in Oregon Pinot Gris, more than doubling their production of the variety in three years. It’s easy to see why as attractive aromas of peach, Uncola, orange and dried pineapple lead to a pleasing and persistent blend of orchard fruit and citrus, picking up a bit of jasmine and a finishing slice of peach.
Rating: Outstanding!
Production: 5,700 cases
