The sign over the entry to the Burger family’s bilingual tasting room reads “NW Pinot Ave,” and at the 150 acres at Yamhill Valley Vineyards includes Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc. This vintage marked winemaker Ariel Eberle’s 10th anniversary working for the Burgers, who have believed in Pinot Blanc to the extent that they planted it across two blocks more 20 years ago. While the light influence of oak shows in the nose of lemon cream pie with baking spice, Golden Delicious apple and pear butter, it is quite brisk on the palate as lemon juice, Granny Smith apple and slate lead to a finish of pear skin and lime. Enjoy with grilled chicken, white fish or pasta in a cream sauce.
