Relationships at four highly respected sites in four distinctive American Viticultural Areas paid delicious dividends in this Left Bank Bordeaux-style blend by Woodinville dentist/winemaker Kit Singh. He worked with Ambassador Vineyard on Red Mountain, Upland Vineyard on Snipes Mountain, Weinbau on the Wahluke Slope and Dineen Vineyard in the Yakima Valley’s Rattlesnake Hills for this approachable red crafted from the historically hot 2015 vintage. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Cabernet Franc (25%), Malbec (17%) and Petit Verdot opens with aromas of Bing cherry, milk chocolate and blueberry taffy. As a drink, it’s a quaffer featuring lively red and blue fruit, a nice tension of tannin and a finish of baking chocolate. Suggested pairings include robust dishes featuring beef, pork or roasted lamb glazed with a reduction of shallots, butter and thyme.
