Two of the Walla Walla Valley’s Salmon-Safe sites — storied Seven Hills Vineyard and the fascinating basalt-footed Ferguson — are blended together in a 50/50 measure at this multi-generation winery. Neither ripeness nor structure were in short supply when it came the Merlot (84%), Cabernet Franc (12%) and Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 18 months in French oak barrels, 35% of which were new wood. The aromas of dark cherry, boysenberry and cinnamon include sweet herbs and fresh cedar. Flavors of Craisin and cherry candy come together in a big and juicy profile that leads out with a stream of raspberry juice. There’s plenty of life in store.
