By Great Northwest Wine on September 7, 2021
This Rhône-inspired blend of Syrah (52%) and Petite Sirah (45%) from Belmont Vineyard — Juan Pablo Valot’s go-to source in Southern Oregon for Syrah — receives a hit of Tempranillo this time for his entry-level red. Its expressive nose brings thoughts of black mulberry, black cherry, blueberry, dried herbs, clove and finely ground black pepper. The flavors and structure are loaded with bright blue fruit, and for the second straight vintage, Valot creates the tangy finish that sets the table for a variety of tapas and will attract lovers of cool-climate Syrah.
