The Baileys’s middle daughter, Jordan, is the namesake for this 4-acre block that’s more exposed to the afternoon cooling breezes of the Van Duzer Corridor to the west, and this is a sassy expression of Pinot Noir from Pommard (60%) and Wädenswil clones planted in volcanic soil type known as Steiwer. There’s little impact of oak, allowing for expressive purple fruit tones akin to huckleberry, Bing cherry and elderberry. It’s youthful, mouthfilling and an ideal foil for suggested pairings that range from grilled lean cuts of beef, chicken dishes with rosemary and thyme, lamb stew, duck, pancetta, chocolate-covered strawberries or a slice of cherry pie.
