Argentine winemaker Juan Pablo Valot targets Kelly Vineyard in Southern Oregon for much of the Malbec program under his own brand, which he pours up in the Willamette Valley college town of Corvallis. His dry rosé developed its fruit punch color with 24 hours of skin contact, and the nose is quite attractive with notes of pink strawberry, blueberry and Rainier cherry. Valot describes the structure as “medium body,” and it does bring a fuller mouthfeel than most rosés, yet there’s pleasure to it and the tangy flavors of blueberry and huckleberry.
