While he’s largely known for Grüner Veltliner, Stephen Reustle earned headlines at the 2015 Six Nations Wine Challenge in Australia when his 2012 Masada Bloc Syrah earned the title as Best New World Syrah. In 2009, he used a 2007 Syrah to win his first Platinum, and his ability to ripen Syrah shows up once again at the Platinum, revealing an inky example with classic notes of dark blue fruit, leather and cured meat. Awards: San Francisco Chronicle (double gold), Monterey International (gold), Newport Seafood & Wine (gold).
