Of the nine vineyard sites across Red Mountain that are now part of the Shaw Vineyards portfolio, there is only one 2-acre block of Tempranillo. Mark Lathrop, from just his third vintage as a winemaker, turned the big Spanish red into a Platinum at Liberty Lake. It’s a complete and classic example of Temp with its theme of leather, black cherry and boysenberry along with sandalwood, barrel spice and sun-dried tomato. Enjoy with rack of lamb, prime rib or tomato-based dishes. Award: Savor NW (gold).
