More than a dozen houses for Western bluebirds sit in residence at the Sokol Blosser organically farmed vineyard along the western slopes of Oregon’s Dundee Hills, and the label of this lively sparkling wine project features the family’s support of the Prescott Western Bluebird Recovery Project. Second-generation winemaker Alex Sokol Blosser builds these bubbles upon Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with aromatic boosts from Müller-Thurgau and Early Muscat, imparting hints of Lemonhead candy, Granny Smith apple, dried apricot and sweet herbs. Its fun mousse is almost fulsome, and the pulse of lime juice wipes clean the dosage of 0.8% residual sugar, making for a vibrant finish. The family made this a part of its 50th anniversary celebration of their vines, and they suggest serving it with caviar, oysters on the half shell or with tacos on Tuesday.
