Snoqualmie Valley winemaker Scott Greenberg provides his supporters with the opportunity to experience one of the grapes that’s in high demand. This bright red Rhône variety hates winter and loves the heat, which explains why it has found a home on Red Mountain in the Holmes family’s famous vineyard. By the last week of September, these clusters reached 28 Brix, which gave Greenberg nice ripeness without stripping out the brightness. Fun aromas of dusty Rainier cherry, cotton candy, bubble gum and facial powder. The tannin management allows for enjoyment of the high-toned fruit of Montmorency cherry, boysenberry and pomegranate, making for a juicy and vibrant finish. Suggested pairings include lamb kabobs and goat cheese.
