Woodinville winemaker Kevin Cedergreen works with Art Den Hoed’s multi-generation ranch and vineyard near Sunnyside — a cooler site in the Yakima Valley at about 1,300 feet elevation — for this stunning example of Grenache. The Rhône influence shows in the early and subtle notes of smoky cured meat, which are followed by tarragon, boysenberry and Bing cherry that are gathered up on the complex palate. The fleshy and juicy structure is capped by a bite of pink strawberry. It’s only now beginning to come into its own, reflected by its gold medal at Sip Magazine’s the 2022 Best of the Northwest judging this fall.
