A decade ago, Rob Mellison and his pharmacist wife Donna celebrated winning their first Platinum — which was for Pinot Gris. The vines that produced these grapes were just coming to life when the Mellisons announced they had earned Washington Winery of the Year from Wine Press Northwest magazine. Donna’s chemistry background shows in the balance of this Pinot Gris that’s a dazzling array of Granny Smith apple, lime and limestone, resulting in a refreshing finish.
