Snipes Mountain stands out in the middle of the Yakima Valley, and the way it collects heat makes it a worthy site for Tempranillo. Co-winemakers Jared Whelchel and Brad Sherman blend in Grenache (20%), giving it more of an Iberian Peninsula feel that comes through in the wine. The nose of black currant, leather, red bell pepper and minerality funnels into flavors of ripe strawberry and caramel as bottle-aged tannins have become so well integrated that the finish is surprisingly silky for a Temp.
