For the second straight year, Justin Michaud’s Tempranillo from the vineyards of Mike Andrews in the hills south of Prosser, Wash., turned Platinum. There’s the dustiness so often found in wines from the Horse Heaven Hills as well as Chinese five-spice aromatics, black plum and a savory farewell of Kalamata olive.
