Here’s another Platinum for the Wolfe family’s annual tribute to the late Stan Clarke, one of the most important educators and the man who foretold of the rise of Cabernet Sauvignon in Washington state. This blend from Dead Canyon, McKinley Springs and Destiny Ridge results in the third Platinum for The Teacher, and its profile is a bit of a throwback as cassis, dusty Bing cherry and caramel include a hint of cherry tomato and dried sage. It is one of Thurston Wolfe’s most widely available offerings, and Total Wine stocks it. Qualifying award: Seattle Wine Awards (double gold)
