Attorney/winegrower Paul Beveridge incorporates four Portuguese varieties he tends across his certified Biodynamic site in the Naches Heights for this Port-style dessert wine. The blend of Tinta Roriz aka Tempranillo (41%) Touriga Naçional (35%), Tinta Caõ (12%) and Souzão came together for a dark and sweet expression loaded with cherries and blackberries, backed by hints of baking spices. His skillful job with alcohol, sugar (10%) and acidity make for a smooth and enjoyable sipper that won the hearts of judges at the 2023 Cascadia International Wine Competition, where it reached the sweepstakes. It’s also available at three Puget Sound-area locations — the Pie Wine Bar in Woodinville, his tasting room in Seattle’s Madrona neighborhood and the Pike Place Market.
