Brett Brockmeyer’s previous vintage earned a spot in last year’s Platinum Awards with a gold medal at the Sunset International. This bottling from the 2023 vintage is made again with grapes from this historic vineyard near Grandview, Wash., farmed by the Tudor family. The collaboration resulted in one of the highest-scoring white wines of the 2024 Cascadia International, and it was voted by judges as the top expression of this brilliant Spanish grape. The notes brings thoughts of a vacation in the Mediterranean with aromas of lemon slices, fresh ocean air, and a warm dry meadow. The presentation on the palate is well-balanced between tartness and sweetness, bracing yet pleasing. There’s a sense of orange blossoms, citrusy sugar, bright brininess and lingering acidity. There’s an unexpected amount of complexity.
