Howard Van Slyke of Van Slyke Farms, Inc., is offering 353 acres of farmland near the Sunnyslope Wine District within the Snake River Valley American Viticultural Area west of Caldwell, Idaho.
Van Slyke Farm is a Century Farm within Canyon County near Homedale Road east of Wilder. The acreage on the market offers gradual south-facing slopes with a backdrop that includes Lizard Butte, the Snake River and the Owyhee Mountains.
Nearby plantings that contribute to some of the Northwest’s best wines include Bitner Vineyards, Famici Wine Co., Fraser Vineyard, Koenig Vineyards, Hat Ranch Winery, Lanae Ridge Vineyard, Rose Cottage, Williamson Vineyard and Windseeker Vineyard.
The three parcels available for puchase are “separate and unique Canyon County, Idaho properties,” according to Van Slyke.
Parcel #1, across Homedale Road from Rose Cottage, is 184.76 acres and includes a house.
Parcel #2 (69.54 acres) and Parcel #3 (98.89 acres) are just to the northwest and along or near Van Slyke Road.
“All properties have surface water rights from the Wilder Irrigation District, Boise Project Board of Control,” Van Slyke says. “All properties have pressurized irrigation with pivot irrigation systems and mainline for solid set pipe on the corners. Solid set irrigation pipe is NOT included in this sales offer.”

The Van Slyke family’s roots in the Caldwell area reach back to 1917, and the community established a museum in 1934 to honor the work by C.M. Van Slyke. The City of Caldwell operates the Van Slyke Agricultural Museum, which celebrated its grand reopening at Harrison Park on July 3, 2023.
