Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic are partnering again in 2024 and showcasing the insight of Food & Wine magazine for a series of immersive culinary journeys throughout the Pacific Northwest via the Columbia and Snake rivers.
The 31-cabin National Geographic Sea Bird or her sister ship, National Geographic Sea Lion will sail through rolling valleys and soaring canyons. Guests will be immersed in the region’s sustainable food and wine movements and receive unique culinary experiences off-shore and onboard.
Prices for the eight-day voyage, which includes five rivers and a series of locks, begin at $5,880 per person (double occupancy). Each cruise spans 7-8 days and departs from either downtown Portland or Lewiston, Idaho, in the historic Lewis-Clark Valley.
Ray Isle, executive wine editor for Food & Wine, will be the special guest speaker aboard the first sailing of the 2024 spring — March 31. That excursion begins in Portland and concludes in Lewiston. Isle writes Food & Wine’s monthly “Bottle Service” column. His next book, The World in a Wineglass: The Insiders’ Guide to Artisanal, Sustainable, Extraordinary Wines to Drink Now, was released by Scribner Books in November 2023.
Eric Degerman, owner/CEO of Great Northwest Wine, will serve as an on-board cultural specialist for several of the voyages.
