While there’s a trend toward unoaked Chardonnay, this brand among Dusted Valley’s portfolio doesn’t skimp on barrel treatment. In fact, 85 percent of this juice was fermented in neutral oak. Its rich and buttery nose includes hints of toast, smoke, honeycomb and butter rum LifeSavers. That profile pushes through onto the palate, which also includes fruitiness of fresh pear and apple. There’s nice integration of barrel, butterscotch and creaminess with lemony acidity, so for those who enjoy this style, look for it at grocers and wine merchants as well as a by-the-glass pour at restaurants.
