Jim Sanders of Aubichon Cellars and Le Cadeau Vineyard fame also offers this small-production Pinot Noir from under the Joleté Wines 2014 Cuvee Select Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, $29 brand, which also has a history of bottling Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling from Sonoma. His focus has been on Dijon clones from throughout the North Willamette Valley, and this example from Chehalem Mountains and Yamhill-Carlton sites serves as an excellent representative of the warmer 2013 vintage using François Frères and Tonnellerie de Mercurey barrels. It’s a riper style bringing a theme of sweet black currant, dusty blueberry and dried rosemary, backed by Montmorency cherry and pomegranate juice.
