Spokane winemaker Kirk Phillips shows his own talents as well as the versatility and skill of Washington grape growers with this production of Pinot Noir from Ginkgo Forest Vineyard on the warm Wahluke Slope and Weyns Farms in the nearby Frenchman Hills. Light toast leads the tones of black currant, plum, smoked cherry and rose petal. It’s an easy drinking and fairly rich style that’s different than many Pinot Noir, and the hallmark is the pleasing acidity and balanced tannins. Look for these wines around the Lilac City at Vino, a Wine Shop and Yoke’s Fresh Market at Argonne Village in the Spokane Valley.
