This 4-acre site overlooking Williams Canyon north of Yamhill, Ore., was planted in a high-density fashion at 2,100 vines per acre, and in this vintage, the Campbells cropped these 19-year-old vines at 1 3/4 tons per acre. They spare little expense to produce these bottlings each vintage, which includes a 70% new French barrel program. Aromas of dusty oak, Marionberry, raspberry and bittersweet chocolate aromas lead to juicy purple fruit flavors of blueberry and pomegranate, combining for a high-acid, food-friendly finish.
