One of the Northwest’s most picturesque vineyards, Alder Ridge is a sweeping site at 800 acres that has supplied prized fruit for a number of producers on both sides of the Columbia River soon after it was established in 1997. The spirit of the late John Farmer, vineyard manager for its first decade of life, carries on in this Cab by winemaker Jon Zimmerman. Touches of Cabernet Franc, Grenache and Tempranillo add spice to the aromas of plum pie, toast, nutmeg, coffee and wild roses. Bright fruitiness of boysenberry, dried cherries and Craisins are met by a pleasing grip of tannins and a pinch of sweet herbs. Look for these wines at QFC and Fred Meyer stores throughout the Puget Sound as well as the Willow Crest/Apex tasting room at the Vintners Village in Prosser.
