Hightower Cellars 2008 Red Mountain Red, Red Mountain, $50
By Great Northwest Wine on March 24, 2013
Winemakers Tim and Kelly Hightower used grapes from E&E Shaw as well as their estate Out of Line Vineyard to craft this delicious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. It reveals aromas of boysenberry, spice, oak and toasted almond, followed by flavors of cherry, blueberry, blackberry and dark chocolate. Gripping tannins back up all the opulent fruit, making this the perfect foil for prime rib or roast duck drizzled with a red wine reduction sauce.
