Waterbrook Winery 2010 Late Harvest Semillon Ice Wine, Columbia Valley, $12
By Great Northwest Wine on April 5, 2013
Best Buy! We never see ice wines at this price point, especially with this kind of quality. Winemaker John Freeman is the longtime winemaker at this Walla Walla Valley winery, and he used grapes from Canyon Vineyard Ranch to make a delicious dessert wine. It has a classic ice wine nose with aromas of apricot, spice and maple syrup, followed by flavors of papaya, baked apricot and cinnamon. It is sweet without being cloying and is a great way to finish a delicious meal.
