Willamette Valley Vineyards 2010 Bernau Block Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, $45
By Great Northwest Wine on April 29, 2013
Jim Bernau is the founder and CEO of one of Oregon’s largest wineries. He has been involved in the industry since the early 1980s and is one of the great entrepreneurs in the Oregon wine industry. This vineyard-designated bottling pays tribute to him, and it is delicious. It opens with aromas of strawberry, fresh mint, violet and sage. On the palate, it opens with a smooth entry of strawberry, pomegranate and cranberry juice. It is a gentle and elegant red wine.
