Gordon Estate 2009 Merlot, Columbia Valley, $22
By Great Northwest Wine on May 7, 2013
This longtime Washington winery with estate vines overlooking the Snake River just a few miles before it drops into the Columbia has now opened a tasting bar in the Broadmoor mall in Pasco. This Merlot should be welcomed by any of its visitors, thanks to stunning aromas of black cherry jam, clove, cola, pepper and turmeric and flavors of rich black fruit, raspberry and black pepper. Its moderate tannins and bright acidity create a balance that is nothing short of brilliant.
