Elk Cove Vineyards 2012 Pinot Blanc, Willamette Valley, $19
By Great Northwest Wine on June 5, 2013
Another stunning wine from second-generation winemaker Adam Campbell at his winery in northern Yamhill County. Campbell has his whites dialed in, as his 2012 Pinot Gris also earned our top rating. This Pinot Blanc opens with aromas of lemon zest, honeydew melon and Fuji apple. It has loads of acidity – especially for a Pinot Blanc – along with flavors of grapefruit, pineapple and melon, all backed with nice richness on the palate. Enjoy with grilled chicken, seared scallops with a butter sauce or pasta with pesto.
Rating: Outstanding!
