Union Wine Co. 2012 Kings Ridge Riesling, Willamette Valley, $13
By Great Northwest Wine on August 29, 2013
Best Buy! Producing a low-priced Oregon Riesling is not easy, yet Union Wine Co. in Tualatin has managed to craft a delicious example for under $15. Kudos to winemaker Greg Bauer, who has made a Riesling with aromas that unveil the purity of fruit. It opens with aromas of pear, apple, mineral and lime, followed by bright flavors of green apple, lemon zest and a hint of clove. We like this with Indian, Thai or Cajun dishes.
Rating: Excellent
Production: 1,200 cases
Alcohol: 12%
