By Great Northwest Wine on October 21, 2013
A number of Woodinville’s elite wine houses specialize in red blends, and the tandem of Chris Peterson and Marty Taucher have used their expressions to gain rapid acclaim. This GMS tribute to Rhone varieties features Grenache (46%) from Alder Ridge, Mourvèdre (30%) off Kiona’s Heart of the Hill and Syrah from Angela’s Vineyard. Their use of only neutral oak helps create aromas of black cherry and raspberry, backed by vanilla, toasted marshmallow and crushed red pepper flakes. The pour brings smooth flavors of more black cherries along with raspberry jam. Bold tannins backed by dark chocolate make for a solid profile and pleasing length.
