SuLei Cellars 2012 Spring Creek Sauvignon Blanc, Columbia Valley, $18
By Great Northwest Wine on October 22, 2013
Tanya Woodley graduated from Walla Walla Community College, trained with Steve Lessard at Whitman Cellars for several years, then earned the Washington Winery to Watch award from Wine Press Northwest the same year this delicious Sauv Blanc was grown. Aromas include cotton candy, gooseberry pie, lime, angel food cake and a pinch of herbs. There’s a wealth of acidity from start to finish, opening with ambrosia salad and moving to Italian lime soda before a flourish of quince. It’s easy to imagine this with salmon.
