Boomtown 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, Washington, $16
By Great Northwest Wine on November 29, 2013
A growing number of the Pacific Northwest restaurants are adding wines by this joint effort by Dusted Valley Vintners and Wahluke Wine Co., to their glass pour programs — and for good reason. They rank among the most consistent values in the region, and the quality throughout the lineup continues to rise. The Cab is particularly complex, starting with aromas of sweet cherry, blackberry and Jolly Rancher grape candy, backed with crushed oregano, green peppercorns and black olive. Its entry is smooth, elegant and complex with dark cherry, red currant and bell pepper, laced with pomegranate and blueberry acidity.
