Milbrandt Vineyards 2010 The Estates Merlot, Wahluke Slope, $25
By Great Northwest Wine on December 15, 2013
Butch and Jerry Milbrandt have become major players in the Washington wine industry by combining their 2,000 acres of award-winning fruit on the nearly bulletproof Wahluke Slope with a history of talented winemaking. This release from Northridge (36%), Katherine Leone (35%) and Clifton Hill vineyards features dark blue fruit aromas of blackberry and plum with dark chocolate, allspice, nutmeg and cherry cola. Dark cherries, plum and bittersweet chocolate flavors are met with sandy tannins to make for an elegant drink.
