Siren Song Wines 2010 Jolie, Washington, $32
West Seattle winemaker Kevin Brown pours his food-friendly wines in La Romanza Bistro and Wine Bar on California Street, and the native Californian names this blend of Malbec (36%), Merlot (36%) and Cabernet Sauvignon for a French term for beautiful. His product of Sagemoor and Weinbau vineyards features aromas of red currant, pomegranate, white pepper and teriyaki than are followed by smooth flavors of raspberry, black cherry and black licorice. Its moderate tannins and bright acidity leads Brown to pairings with osso buco, wild mushroom risotto or grilled marinated flank steak. For more food pairing ideas, visit The Brown Lounge site operated by his wife, Holly.
