Dusted Valley Vintners 2011 Cabernet Franc, Columbia Valley, $42
By Great Northwest Wine on December 27, 2013
Here’s one of the Pacific Northwest’s most extravagant examples of Cabernet Franc, a product of three distinctive vineyards — Bacchus in the Columbia Valley AVA, Minnick Hills in the Walla Walla Valley and StoneTree on the Wahluke Slope. The experience starts with gorgeous cherry and Italian herb aromas, backed by baking spice, pipe tobacco and celery leaf. There’s a bold entry of red currant, red plum and Van cherry flavors with sturdy tannins. Enjoy this with Duck Confit or a well-marbled steak.
