Torii Mor Winery 2011 Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, $24
By Great Northwest Wine on January 23, 2014
The official winery of the Portland Japanese Garden, Dundee winemaker Jacques Tardy sorts through lots from 13 vineyards for this bottling — which is his largest each year. It shows brightness from beginning to finish as a flashes tones of red cherry, raspberry, blueberry, tobacco and saddle leather. The structure is that of a lighter-bodied Pinot Noir with cranberry acidity and righteous tannins, a combination that will serve it well at the table featuring pork or salmon.
