Kyra Wines 2012 Merlot, Columbia Valley, $20
By Great Northwest Wine on February 19, 2014
This boutique winery in Moses Lake, Wash., continues to produce approachable, food-friendly reds, and this opens with aromas of plums, Marionberry and blueberry, backed by cherry, vanilla and mint. Its structure is on the lighter side for Merlot with nice flavors of cherry, plum, crushed herbs and mint tea.
