Winemaker/grower Phil Cline enjoys pairing Syrah with Cabernet Franc, and this vintage featured a 55/45 blend that opens with aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, blueberry, Earl Grey tea and toasted oak. There’s a match on the palate, starting with a dark fruity entry and a good scrape of tannin, backed by juicy acidity to make it a well-balanced drink. This earned a silver medal at the 2014 Seattle Wine and Food Experience Wine Competition.
