Tim Armstrong’s young boutique and family operation in Woodinville has made quite a splash with this remarkable Cabernet Sauvignon from renowned Yakima Valley grower Paul Portteus. The nose is akin to blackberry jam on dark toast, backed with plums, black pepper and dark chocolate. It transitions to luscious flavors of black cherry and plum on the palate with medium-plus tannins and delightful acidity. This ranked as one of the best of its class at the 2014 Seattle Wine and Food Experience Competition, earning a gold medal. The Armstrong wines are available at Wine World and Spirits in Seattle, QFC Finn Hill in Kirkland and their Woodinville tasting room.
