The Gamache brothers grow their grapes in Basin City, Wash., north of the Tri-Cities, but their tasting room is in Prosser’s Vintners Village. The gorgeous deep garnet color hints at some influence of Syrah, but it’s 100% Cab Franc. A charming nose of bittersweet chocolate, dark cherry, blueberry, sage and old leather leads to flavors of Montmorency cherry, pomegranate, cola and blackberry, backed by dusty tannins and bright acidity. Suggested pairings include pork, Mediterranean recipes and cheese.
